MADISON, Wis. – A Madison man driving a moped early Wednesday morning was hit from behind and rode on the car’s hood for about 200 feet before rolling off, according to a release.

The 35-year-old man was driving his moped around 5:50 a.m. in the 3600 block of Speedway Road, police said.

When a car hit the man’s moped from behind, he was tossed onto the hood of the car, which caused the windshield to shatter, according to the release. The man rode on the car’s hood for about 200 feet until the car stopped and he rolled off.

The driver, a 22-year-old Beloit woman, told police she did not see the man on the moped, officials said.

The man is listed in stable condition, according to the release. The woman was cited for following too close.
