NORTHAMPTON – A car flipped over on Easthampton Road Monday morning near Ernie’s Towing.
A portion of Easthampton Road was closed to traffic as police investigated the incident. The road reopened around 3:30 p.m., police said.
Police said that a witness saw the car, a red Honda, veer into the other lane prior to the crash, essentially driving another vehicle off the road. The car then returned to the lane, before drifting back over and off the road, hitting a property sign and then a snow bank, which catapulted it into a tree. The car came to rest flipped over, and the vehicle’s driver was partially ejected. Police said there were no other occupants in the car and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Police said that the call came in at about 11:45 a.m., and that there was around a 2 minute response time.
The driver, a 65-year old female, was transported to Baystate Medical Center and her condition is not currently known at this time.
Police are still determining the cause of the crash.
